Everyone's welcome at The Popcorn run - there is no minimum or maximum age limit.
Wheelchairs and strollers are permitted on the course.
2k option is available for the kids as long as 13 and under are supervised at all times.
Extra popcorn, and lemonade are available for purchase at the event for supporters.
Online registration must be filled out for all participants.

Walk, run or dance!
Take on the run any way you choose.
This is not a timed race, so if you wish to walk or run it is up to you.
Most of our courses will have two water break stations.

Reward your hard work!
Complete the course and reward yourself to a bag of tasty kettle corn and a refreshing glass of lemonade.
Kick back, listen to music, and enjoy the open park atmosphere. You've earned it!

hart has been rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing dogs since 2004. hart is 100% non profit and does not operate out of a facility; instead, we rely on a network of foster homes, volunteers and private donations from individuals and organizations as well as specific fundraising activities to keep our efforts ongoing. Even a donation of $10 can provide deworming medication for a new intake. Your donation DOES make a difference and helps us give dogs a new leash on life.
Edmonton Event Guide
Race Kit Pick Up
Pick up your packet on the event day at the sign-in tent. If you have chosen to do the run as a virtual run, you will receive the time and date to pick up your packet or you may also choose to have it shipped to you.
Event Location and start times.
The event will be held on Saturday, Sept 24th, 2022. The starting wave will begin at 9am and there will be following waves starting every 10 minutes.
Location: Kinsmen Park, 9100 Walterdale Hill Edmonton, Alberta
Parking And Directions
Parking is free in and around the park but is limited and is first come first serve.
Running With Children
Participants who are 13 and under must be accompanied by a ticketed adult (18+). Participants under the age of 5 can run for free but must still be checked in at the sign-in tent and have pre-registered through the registration system (Race Roster). Wheelchairs, strollers and pushchairs are permitted on course however, please note, the terrain on the course may vary (hills, roads, pathways, grass, unpaved trails). Each city will have a unique course. The Edmonton course will be a 5k or 10k course.
Safety First
Your health and safety is top of mind as we plan to welcome you to the event! We continue to follow Alberta Health Services for updates and guidelines to help us prepare.
Please read through the following important precautions and measures we are taking to prevent the risk of COVID-19 spread:

If you are sick, stay home.

Participants are expected to use proper personal protective practices (coughing and sneezing etiquette, hand hygiene, etc.).

Spitting will not be allowed. Consider carrying tissues for spit and mucus and dispose of them promptly after the race.

Faster runners: Please keep to the left and allow two meters of space when passing other runners or trail users.

Slower runners and participants with strollers, etc.: Please keep to the right.
We strongly encourage you to:

Wash your hands frequently, bring hand sanitizer, bring your own water bottle, and maintain two meters of physical distance from others at all times

Bring a non-medical mask for use in public washrooms and while you are not running or walking.

Use the restrooms at your home prior to arriving onsite. Public restrooms will be available if needed.

Arrive on-time (not earlier than necessary), and refrain from gathering with others after you’ve completed the run/walk.

If you need assistance on the course, please look for race staff/volunteers and ask for assistance.
